Top3Buys publishes one guide a week: the three best buys in a single category — a premium pick, an all-around pick, and a budget pick. Not a ranked list of twenty. The point is that the decision is finished: three real options, each answering a different question — Is this what I want? (premium), Is it worth it? (all-around), Can I afford this? (budget).
Product marketing is loud; real-world performance is quiet. Our job is sifting that noise into signal — what you’re reading is the result.
The bar every pick clears
Every candidate is held to the same fixed criteria, applied the same way every week:
- Named independent test results on the exact model — not a sibling model, not a manufacturer spec sheet. Every guide lists the testing we relied on, source by source.
- Current availability at or below list price at the time the guide is verified.
- Warranty terms we could actually check.
- At least one documented flaw we can repeat to you — every machine has one, and a guide that can’t name it hasn’t looked hard enough.
Products that miss the bar don’t get quietly dropped — the strongest of them appear in each guide’s “Also considered” section with the reason they missed.
Never sponsored
No manufacturer pays for placement, ever. We choose products first and add links second. Some links are affiliate links (disclosed at the top of every guide, and in detail in our Affiliate Disclosure) — commissions may influence which categories we cover, but they never touch which products win. That firewall is a standing rule, not a preference.
Human-directed, AI-assisted
Top3Buys is human-directed, with AI doing the heavy lifting: AI agents research each category, pull independent testing sources, and draft these guides. A human sets the criteria, chooses each week’s category, and reviews and approves every pick, every claim, and every page before anything publishes — nothing goes live on AI judgment alone. If something is still wrong, every guide has report buttons (and the footer has a feedback link). Reports land in a fix queue we work every week.
On the record
Picks live at permanent, dated URLs — we don’t rewrite history when a pick ages. Every guide shows the date it was last verified, corrections are logged in a visible change log on the page itself, and guides are re-verified annually. If a pick stops being right, the page says so.
